Who we are.

Bravissima! is a group of diverse, philanthropic women who have made a yearly commitment to sponsor the Arts in our region. Each year, the women decide on an arts project or performance to fund. By recognizing the impact of many together over the individual, they have begun a growing movement, showing the strength and commitment to the Arts in our beautiful Appalachian Highlands region.

We are a non-profit group of women, each of whom commits $1,000 a year, every year, to sponsor arts performances, exhibits, or programs. It is important to Bravissima! that our beneficiaries make some allowance for young people and the economically-disadvantaged to enjoy the performances, exhibits, or programs that we fund.

Membership in Bravissima! is open to any woman who supports its mission and purpose and pays the $1,000 yearly membership contribution.

Bravissima! operates solely on volunteer efforts. Events held for Bravissima! are paid for through contributions from businesses and individuals. These events entail three or four catered activities per year. Examples include high teas, brunches, luncheons, dinners, cocktail parties, champagne toasts, art exhibits, gallery events, mardi gras celebrations, opera and other music celebrations, and more. Most of the events include musical entertainment, such as symphonic groups, piano music, choral ensembles, classical duets, jazz trios and other musical ensembles.

We are committed to and celebrate diversity in Bravissima! The Arts are enriched through cultural diversity, and our decisions regarding funding for the Arts are enhanced by diversity and inclusion within our membership. Keeping in line with our Purpose, we embrace the highest level of respect for each other and for our various backgrounds and experiences.
